Left Lane 03:32
[VERSE 1] Some say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, As long as you don’t let your mind get lost and wander. Well, I guess that I might be the case, But I’d still rather be sitting here staring at your pretty face. [VERSE 2] We’ve got a lot of highway lying in between us, Ain’t no reason to let it get in our way, No distance could erase our fate, I’ll be wearing down a path driving northbound in the left hand lane. [CHORUS] We should take our time take it slow, But I really want you to know, You’re the only woman on my mind and I think you’re gonna find I’ll be driving up the road. I don’t want to lose you, And I think we’re onto something here, These Carolina skies are crying, And girl I wish you were here. [VERSE 3] Now it seems to be we’re prisoners to proximity, Bound by these chains of a city and a street name, But I plan on busting out and breaking free, I’ll be riding 95 in the left lane, there’s a pretty lady that I’ve gotta see. [CHORUS] [BRIDGE] I think it’s pretty plain to see, I’ve been thinking about you constantly, Can’t hardly wait to see you, And it’ll be another couple weeks, I’ll be driving north and you’ll be coming south, You know where we’ll meet, For dinner and a sunrise, In the skies over DC. [CHORUS]

[VERSE 1] Life is full of lessons, You better count your blessings twice, Because you’ve only got one life, Life is like a highway, Cutting through the heartland, You can chase that horizon, but when it comes there’ll only be another one. [CHORUS 1] I don’t pretend to know what’s next, But I live my life with no regrets, Every time I trip and fall I find out who I am, It’s not knowing where you’re going, But where you’ve been. [VERSE 2] Everyone wants to know the secret to finding happiness in their lives, Well, you don’t need to crack a safe for you to realize, It was with you all along, You had it this whole time, Don’t you know man, it’s what you’ve got inside. [CHORUS 2] I don’t pretend to know what’s next, But I live my life with no regrets. Every stone along the road has made me who I am, It’s not knowing where you’re going, But where you’ve been. [BRIDGE] – instrumental [CHORUS 3] I don’t pretend to know what’s next, But I live my life with no regrets, Every time I hit a wall I’m less a child and more a man, It’s not know where you’re going, But where you’ve been.

Hypnotized 04:36
[VERSE 1] Fire-filled skies fade fast behind me as I plunge into the night, And I know these flames will find my eyes again once I reach the other side, Dimly lit orbs fly past in pairs to my left, Embers lag behind and chase a dying sunset. Black sheets roll beneath my feet and spinning steel, Hurling me home where the passion is real. [VERSE 2] Pedal to the floor and you know I’m on my way, An early twilight arrival, true love at day break, I fall into my niche, I drown in brown eyes, Never again a need to use our goodbyes. [CHORUS] Somehow an angel has fallen in this bed, Finagled her halo from off of her head, She lays by my side with her eyes open wide, There’s a gate in the sky god left open wide. There’s fire in the skies, There’s fire in my mind, There’s fire in the night, The fire in your eyes has got me hypnotized. [BRIDGE} – instrumental [CHORUS]

[VERSE 1] The night it creeps, It sneaks up on us like a thief, Next thing we’re asleep. Sunrise it screams, It wakes us from a sound sleep, We find our feet. {PRECHORUS 1] But we’re no slaves to this life, We can do with it what we like, We can grasp each moment before it goes, And if we don’t we’ll never know. [CHORUS] I’ve been around the world ten times in my mind, I’ve seen the seven oceans shine, I’ve climbed the peaks in Nepal and Japan, I’ve walked across the desert sands. [VERSE 2] This life it seems, We get so caught up planning everything, That we lose our dreams, This life we live, It begs for us to take in all it gives, There’s so many gifts. [PRECHORUS 2] But we’re no slaves to this life, We can do with it what we like, We can grasp each moment before it goes, And if we don’t we’ll never know. [CHORUS] I’ll be around the world ten times before I die, I’ll see the seven the oceans shine and they’ll shine so bright, And you can bet on my life that when I die, You’ll bury me with a smile. I’ll be around the world ten times. [3X] You’ll bury me with a smile.

[VERSE 1] Some days it seems like everywhere you turn another devil’s trying to bring you down, And the towers you’ve been building to the heavens have fallen down, But I’ve heard that when life slams another door in your face, It also plants a key in your pocket that unlocks another one someplace. [CHORUS] So let them tear your towers down, They don’t define you anyway. You’ll find peace in the sound. Unlock another door today. [VERSE 2] My life’s no game day cliché pitting me against my rival, no. It’s about find purpose in my plan, beyond survival. But if you just take a second and step back, the big picture’s so clear, It’s amazing how taking perspective can melt away all your fears. [CHORUS] [BRIDGE] You’ve got to keep your eyes wide open, And realize that sometimes defeat is only opportunity in disguise. [CHORUS]

[VERSE 1] It was a rainy summer night on Warrenville Road, Driving in from Long Island when we lost control, We spent a couple hours with the Greenbrook Police Patrol, That silver beauty hit a pole, god rest her soul. [VERSE 2] It could’ve been a lot worse, god forbid somebody died, When you get thrown off in this life, you’ve got to get back on and ride, The show must go on; we’ll keep on down the line, You can’t derail this train; we’ll ride right through the night. [CHORUS] It’s summer nights like these that make you lose your mind, You can’t quite figure out how you made it out alive, But we’ll pull it together; you know we’ll be just fine, It’s summer nights like these I thank god I’m alive. [VERSE 3] We’ve been all the way to Florida and right back up the east coast, Seen a lot of highway; a bit more than most, To this summer I say, “Raise a glass”, and make a toast, Cause we’ve been living life and, man, the lord knows. [CHORUS]
